Big Shooters for Nooters in Las Vegas!

Nooters Club® is teaming up with a surprising new partner at the Happy Paws and Friends Pet Expo in Las Vegas November 22-23. Watch for more details on our plans to raise awareness for spay and neuter at the expo! Happy Paws and Friends is held in Las Vegas twice each year. Alabama launches state's 2nd low-cost S/N initiative

The state of Alabama now has have two high-volume, high-quality spay / neuter facilities. Alabama Spay Neuter is now open to the public providing low cost spay neuter. Located in Irondale, Alabama just outside Birmingham, Alabama Spay Neuter, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, is patterned after the successful Humane Alliance clinic in Asheville North Carolina. It joins the Alabama Animal Alliance Spay Neuter of Montgomery Alabama, which has completed over 4500 surgeries since opening in October 2007.

Rescue to launch SPAY MICHIGAN hotline
Seeks low-cost E/N resources around the state

All About Animals Rescue of Warren, Michigan is launching the state's first statewide spay and neuter hotline. The hotline will enable pet guardians around the state to locate low-cost spay and neuter resources in their communities. If your rescue organization, shelter or clinic provides discounted pet sterilization anywhere in Michigan, spread the word by joining the SPAY MICHIGAN referral network. Contact name, email and phone number

Plans are to activate the hotline by the end of July 2008. VETERINARIANS - attract new clients by registering for the SPAY MICHIGAN voucher program. Email for more information.

Good News in Economic Blues
Michigan vet says more breeders coming in!

Not that we wish any one's business to come on hard times, but we have to admit that our ears did perk up when at our visit to the vet last week Dr. Bill Nemeth of Krause Veterinary Clinic in Armada, Michigan said that he has seen a big spike in the number of pets being brought in for spay and neuter -- by breeders! He said a lot of folks are getting out of the business since it's just too difficult to make a living at it anymore.

So maybe all the hard work to get more people to adopt is making a dent. In any case, a big applause to those breeders out in Armada, Michigan. Thanks for taking your pets in for fixing with Dr. Bill!
